Just Culture Public Course: Your Journey Starts Here
The two-day Just Culture Public Course is the entry point to start your organization on the transformation towards better outcomes upon a foundation of justice and accountability. The course will introduce you to the concepts, language and skills of the Just Culture framework. Through an introduction to the Five Skills, you will identify the techniques necessary to create a values-supportive culture within your organization that optimizes both systems and behaviors. Just Culture balances the need for an open reporting environment and quality learning culture, with the need to appropriately hold all employees accountable for the quality of their choices. You will learn how to harness these concepts and apply them to improve outcomes across all of your organizational values — safety, privacy, finance, security, and customer service…even reputation.
Our model is proven to help transform an organization’s culture by placing less focus on events, errors and outcomes, and more focus on risk, system design, and the management of behavioral choices. You will find that the concepts will be easily supported by both management and employees; however, the actual behavioral change is often not easy. The Just Culture program will challenge an organization to break old habits and to develop more value supportive behaviors at a foundational level.
Attending Audience
Experience has shown that the most successful Just Culture transformations embrace a cross-functional team approach. Therefore we recommend you invite influential colleagues from human resources, risk/quality, operational/clinical, training, performance improvement and legal to participate in this course and to learn together.
