What is a learning system? A learning system is a window that peers into your operation.
If you do a good event investigation, which is part of your learning system, you’re going to see the risk within your operation. And more than anything, a good learning system helps you manage the employees that were not involved in the event. If you’ve had an event, you’re trying to extract the learning from that event and disperse it across the organization so that everyone has the opportunity to learn from that event, and, more importantly at a holistic level, risk is managed.
